Minecraft Mountain Seeds
By the ChunkScan Team · Updated August 2026
Since 1.18, mountains climb past Y 200 with jagged peaks, snowy slopes and goats. The seeds below each have at least 10 peaks above Y 100 within 512 blocks of spawn, most peaks first, measured by generating the terrain with cubiomes. Open a seed to see the peaks on its map.

What does a mountain spawn give you?
High peaks mean emeralds and goat horns, snow and powder snow for a cold-biome base, sometimes an igloo on the snowy slopes, and the best views for a build. Mountain slopes also expose ore, and cave openings run deep under them, down to the deep dark, which mostly lies below mountains. Cherry groves and meadows often sit on the lower slopes.
How the mountains are measured
Each seed was generated with cubiomes, the world-generation library that mirrors the game, for the listed Java version. We sample the surface height on a 32 by 32 grid within 512 blocks of spawn and count the peaks: points above Y 100 that are higher than all their neighbours. More peaks means more mountains close by.
