About ChunkScan
Find Minecraft seeds without rerolling worlds all night
ChunkScan is a free Minecraft seed finder for players who already have an idea in mind. Maybe you want a village right away, a small island start, a cherry grove nearby, or a ruined portal close enough to check before sunset. Instead of scrolling through old seed lists and hoping the version still matches, you search the seeds we have already checked and preview the map before copying anything into Minecraft.
Our database currently holds over 1.7 million scanned seeds across Java and Bedrock editions for Minecraft 1.21. Every seed is analyzed for structures, biomes, and terrain features within the spawn area. That is over 80 million structure records and 100 million biome region records — all searchable instantly.
Structures
Look for villages, ruined portals, strongholds, mansions, monuments, and 11 more structure types near spawn.
Biomes
Pick the kind of place you want to start in, or search for rare biomes close enough to visit early.
Terrain
Find flatter land for building, mountain starts, ocean-heavy worlds, islands, and dramatic coastlines.
Caves
Search for lush caves, dripstone caves, deep dark, cave starts, or slime chunks near where the world begins.
How to use it
Pick Java or Bedrock, choose your Minecraft version, then start with a quick search like Village Start, Survival Island, Speedrun, or Cherry Grove. If the results are too broad, open Advanced Filters and tighten things from there.
Open the seed searchHow the scanning works
We use cubiomes, an open-source C library that reimplements Minecraft's world generation algorithm, to analyze seeds without launching the game. Each seed takes seconds to process. Structure positions, biome maps, and terrain features are computed and stored for instant retrieval. The scanner runs continuously to expand the database over time. Read the full methodology →

Supported Versions
Seeds can change a lot between versions and editions, especially structures. Choose the same edition and version you plan to play before copying a seed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do these seeds work in my Minecraft version?
Use the version selector first. A great 1.21 Java seed may not place the same village or portal in Bedrock, and older versions can be different again.
Can I use these seeds on a server?
Yes. Copy the seed and paste it into your server's server.properties file, or use it on the world creation screen. Need a server? Apex Hosting sets one up in under a minute with your seed pre-configured.
Is ChunkScan affiliated with Mojang?
No. This is an independent fan project, not an official Mojang or Microsoft site.
How many seeds are in the database?
The database holds over 1.7 million scanned seeds — over 1.2 million Java and over 500,000 Bedrock — with over 80 million structure data points and 100 million biome region records.
How accurate are the results?
Results are generated using cubiomes, which closely matches Minecraft's own world generation code. Structure positions and biome placements match what you see in-game for the selected edition and version. Always verify important seeds in your own game before relying on them for server setups.
Why do I need to select a Minecraft version?
Structure placement and biome boundaries can change between Minecraft updates. A seed that has a village at spawn in 1.20 might not have it in 1.21. Selecting the correct version ensures results match what you will see in-game.
