Minecraft End Gateway Finder
By the ChunkScan Team · Updated October 2026
Quick answer: To find your End gateways, type your Java seed: each dragon kill opens one of 20 gateways round the main island, in an order set by the seed, and the page shows where each one leads. Example: on Java seed 0 the first is at 96, 0 (east side). Link a seed with /end-gateway-finder?seed=YOUR_SEED.
Type your seed, and this finder lists the 20 End gateways round the main island in the order dragon kills open them, with the side of the island each one is on and the X and Z it sends you to in the outer End. Show any exit on the seed map with the End cities around it. It works for Java Edition 1.18 and later.
How End gateways work
Twenty gateway spots ring the main End island, 96 blocks out from the middle at Y 75. They start closed. Each time you kill the ender dragon, one more opens, so after the first fight there is one, after a respawned dragon two, up to twenty. Which spot opens first is not random per game: the world seed shuffles the twenty spots once, so every player on the same seed gets the same order. Throw an ender pearl into the one block of portal inside the bedrock frame to go through.
Where they lead
A gateway throws you about 1,000 blocks out, straight away from the middle in its own direction, to the outer islands where end cities, end ships and elytra are. If that spot is over the void, the game walks further out until it reaches land; if it is inside an island, it walks back to the island's inner edge. A second gateway is built near the highest block there the first time anyone uses the link, and it takes you back to the main island.
How to use it
Type your seed (run /seed in chat, or copy it from the world settings). The first row is the gateway the first dragon kill opens: the Side tells you where to look on the main island, and Leads to is where you will land. The table lists the other nineteen in order, for when you respawn the dragon to open another way out. Show on the seed map opens the outer End around the exit, with end cities marked, so you can pick a gateway that drops you near one.
Versions and editions
The order and the exits follow Java Edition 1.18 and newer, worked out in your browser with the same engine as our seed map. We have not checked Bedrock's gateway order against the game yet, so for a Bedrock seed (1.21 and newer) the page lists the outer gateways round the main island instead, with their X and Z. Older Java worlds (1.17 and before) may send you to a different spot.
