Cherry Grove Seeds — Find Cherry Blossom Biomes Near Spawn

Cherry groves are one of the most popular biomes added in recent Minecraft updates, thanks to their pink trees, falling petals, and unique wood type. About 27% of seeds in our database have a cherry grove within the scan radius, but the average distance is 768 blocks — far enough that you might never find one while exploring randomly. ChunkScan shows you exactly which seeds have them and how far away they are.

What is a cherry grove biome?

Cherry groves were added in Minecraft 1.20 (Trails & Tales update). They generate on mountain slopes and plateaus, featuring pink cherry blossom trees with falling petal particles. The biome has a unique grass color, bee nests in the trees, and pigs and sheep as passive mobs. Cherry groves sit at medium elevation — typically between Y 100 and Y 160 — and border meadows, plains, or other mountain biomes. They are not technically rare, but they only generate in specific terrain conditions.

Cherry wood: the building material

Cherry wood is the main reason builders seek out this biome. Cherry logs, planks, stairs, slabs, fences, doors, and signs all have a distinct pink tone that no other wood type provides. The cherry hanging sign is especially popular for decorative builds. Cherry planks pair well with white concrete, quartz, and diorite for modern-style builds, or with dark oak and spruce for contrast. Having a cherry grove near your base means a renewable supply of this unique wood color.

How common are cherry groves near spawn?

In our scan data, about 27% of seeds (roughly 68,000 out of 257,700) have a cherry grove biome within the scan radius. However, the average distance from spawn is 768 blocks, which means even when a cherry grove exists, it might take several minutes of walking to reach. Seeds with cherry groves closer to spawn — under 300 blocks — are considerably rarer. Use the Cherry filter in ChunkScan to find these closer spawns instead of hiking through mountains hoping to find one.

Best biome combinations with cherry groves

Cherry groves adjacent to plains or meadows create the best building locations — flat land next to a pink hillside. Cherry groves near villages are excellent for decorated survival bases, giving you trading access plus unique building materials. A cherry grove overlooking an ocean or river makes for dramatic cliff-side builds. Since cherry groves generate on mountain terrain, they often come with elevation changes that add natural drama to any build.

Cherry groves and bees

Cherry blossom trees naturally generate bee nests, making cherry groves one of the best biomes for starting a bee farm. Bees pollinate nearby crops, speeding up growth, and produce honey and honeycomb. If you plan to use bees in your survival world, spawning near a cherry grove gives you immediate access to bee nests without needing to hunt for them in flower forests or plains.

Version and edition requirements

Cherry groves only exist in Minecraft 1.20 and later. If you search for seeds on version 1.19 or 1.18, you will not find any cherry grove results regardless of the seed number. Both Java and Bedrock editions support cherry groves from 1.20 onward. Make sure the version selector in ChunkScan matches the version you plan to play. Our database has the most coverage for 1.21 (114,500 Java seeds), which also has the most reliable cherry grove generation.
