Minecraft Buried Treasure Seeds
By the ChunkScan Team · Updated August 2026
Every buried treasure chest holds a heart of the sea, the item a conduit needs. You usually find one with a map from a shipwreck or ocean ruin. The seeds below each have buried treasure within 100 blocks of spawn, closest first, so you can dig it up on day one. Open a seed to see the chest on its map.

What is in a buried treasure chest?
Always a heart of the sea. Most chests also hold iron, gold, emeralds, prismarine crystals, TNT and cooked fish, and some have a diamond or an iron sword. Eight nautilus shells and the heart of the sea craft a conduit, which gives you water breathing and night vision near it.
How the distance is measured
Each seed was generated with cubiomes, the world-generation library that mirrors the game, for the listed Java version. The distance is straight-line from the world spawn to the chest. The chest is buried on a beach, usually under sand, so dig down at the coordinates on the seed page.
