Minecraft Badlands Desert Temple Seeds
By the ChunkScan Team · Updated August 2026
Desert temples only generate in deserts, but deserts and badlands are both hot, dry biomes that often lie side by side. These seeds have a badlands biome and a desert temple near spawn, so terracotta, gold and temple chests are all within reach. Every seed below was scanned and has badlands and a desert temple near spawn. Of the Java 26.3 seeds we scanned, 12,823 have the biome within 512 blocks of spawn and the structure within 1,000 blocks; for half of them the structure is 556 blocks away or closer. Versions with at least 12 such seeds in our scan: 1.18, 1.19, 1.20, 1.21, 26.2 and 26.3.

Temple chests and terracotta close together
A desert temple has four chests that can hold diamonds, emeralds, gold, enchanted books and sometimes an enchanted golden apple. Brushing its suspicious sand gives pottery sherds. The badlands nearby add coloured terracotta, red sand and gold ore near the surface.
Do desert temples spawn in the badlands?
No. Desert temples only generate in the desert biome, so on these seeds the temple is in a desert near the badlands. Watch for the pressure plate in the floor of the hidden room. It sets off TNT under the chests.
How do I loot a desert temple safely?
Dig down beside the blue terracotta in the middle of the floor instead of dropping in. Break the pressure plate before you step on it. Then open the four chests in the side walls.
