Minecraft Badlands Seeds
By the ChunkScan Team · Updated August 2026
Badlands, still called mesa by many players, are the red sand and striped terracotta hills of Minecraft. They are rare, and the only biome with gold ore high up in the hills. Every seed below was scanned and has a badlands biome within 512 blocks of spawn. Open a seed to see where it is on the map.

What is in a badlands biome?
Terracotta in up to seven colours without dyeing, red sand, dead bushes for sticks, and gold ore at any height up to the surface. Mineshafts in badlands can reach the surface, and armadillos spawn here for their scutes.
How the seeds are checked
Each seed was generated with cubiomes for the listed edition and version. We record which biomes fall in a 1,024-block square around spawn, so these seeds are known to have a badlands biome within 512 blocks.
