Slime Farm Seeds With Dense Chunk Clusters

Farm Seeds · By the ChunkScan Team · Updated 2026-08-26

A slime farm lives or dies on chunk layout. Roughly one in ten chunks is a slime chunk, and in most worlds they scatter so widely that a farm covers one or two chunks at best. The seeds on this page are the exception: out of more than 1.7 million seeds scanned, only 20 matched our density filter for tightly grouped slime chunks near spawn. Clustered chunks mean one perimeter, one collection system, and several spawning columns feeding the same killing chamber instead of separate farms strung across the map. Each entry below lists the spawn biome and every scanned structure within range, so you can judge the whole early game, not just the slime rates.

Why chunk density decides your slime rates

Slimes spawn in slime chunks below Y=40 regardless of light level, which makes them one of the few mobs you can farm deep underground on a fixed footprint. The catch is the mob cap: slimes compete with every other hostile mob loaded around you. A farm built over a single isolated slime chunk wastes most of its spawning attempts on cave mobs nearby. When several slime chunks sit adjacent or diagonal to each other, you can light or slab the surrounding caves once, stack spawning platforms across all of them, and funnel everything into one collection point. The same digging effort returns several times the slimeballs per hour.

What to look for in a slime farm seed

Three things matter. First, cluster size and shape: two or more slime chunks sharing an edge beat the same number spread apart, because one perimeter trench covers them all. Second, distance from spawn: a cluster within a few hundred blocks means the farm sits inside your normal loaded area while you work at base. Third, the surface above it: plains, snowy plains, and savanna spawns like the ones in this list mean shallow, flat terrain over the dig site rather than a mountain of stone to manage. Structures are the bonus layer, since a trial chambers or ruined portal near the cluster turns the excavation into a loot run.

How ChunkScan verifies these seeds

Slime chunks are fully deterministic: Minecraft derives them from the world seed with a fixed formula, no exploration required. Our scanner runs real world generation for every seed, computes the slime chunk layout around spawn, and counts how tightly the chunks group rather than just how many exist. It also records the spawn biome and locates every structure in the surrounding area, which is the data you see listed per seed below. Out of 1.7 million scanned seeds, these filters left 20 matches, so each seed on this page represents roughly a one-in-85,000 chunk arrangement, not a hand-picked anecdote.

Seed -9223345425736603125: a funded start on the beach

This beach spawn is the best pick if you want resources before you dig. A shipwreck sits 67 blocks out at (64, 64), and four buried treasure chests generate within 161 blocks, the closest only 46 blocks from spawn at (73, 137). That is early iron, food, and often diamonds without mining a single block. A ruined portal 128 blocks away at (48, 0) adds obsidian and a chance at gold gear. Beach and ocean terrain also means low, soft ground above the slime cluster, so the drop to below Y=40 is short. Cash in the treasure maps first, then start the perimeter.

Seeds -9223291329577142265 and -9223325125607515984: trial chambers over the dig

Both seeds pair the slime cluster with trial chambers almost on top of spawn. On -9223291329577142265, a plains spawn, the chambers sit 67 blocks away at (-240, 80); on -9223325125607515984, snowy plains, they are 86 blocks out at (80, 32), with a second chambers at (80, -224). Trial chambers generate underground at the same depths you excavate for a slime farm, so you can raid them for trial keys and heavy cores while clearing the caves that would otherwise steal your mob cap. If you want even more, -9223322174622252740 has three trial chambers within 332 blocks of its forest spawn.

Practical tips for building on these seeds

Dig your spawning area below Y=40 and clear full chunks edge to edge, since slime spawning is evaluated per chunk. Light or slab every cave within 128 blocks of the AFK spot so slimes get the spawning attempts. Build platforms with two and a half to three blocks of headroom to allow large slimes, and push drops toward a central water stream with open trapdoors or magma at the kill point. Stand below the platforms so pack spawns keep triggering. On seeds like -9223371612384761370, use the ruined portal 160 blocks from spawn for early obsidian, then AFK at the farm while smelting.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find the exact slime chunks on these seeds?

Slime chunks derive directly from the world seed, so any slime chunk calculator shows them if you enter the seed number exactly, including the minus sign. Then confirm in game by watching for slimes below Y=40.

Do slime chunks work the same on Bedrock Edition?

No. Bedrock computes slime chunks with a different algorithm that ignores the seed's Java layout, so these clusters only apply to Java worlds. All seeds on this page were scanned on Java Edition.

Why do only 20 of 1.7 million seeds match this filter?

About one chunk in ten is a slime chunk, but they rarely group tightly near spawn. Our filter requires a dense cluster inside the scanned spawn area, which cuts the pool to roughly one seed per 85,000.
