Nether fortresses are the only reliable source of blaze rods and the only place wither skeletons spawn, so a fortress near your spawn portal is one of the most useful early finds in the Nether. The seeds below each put a fortress close to the portal-linked spawn coordinate, ranked by distance and verified by scanning the world with cubiomes. Distances are measured in Nether blocks (1 Nether block = 8 Overworld blocks).

Blaze rods are the fuel for brewing and the only way to make blaze powder for eyes of ender, so reaching the End depends on finding a fortress. Fortresses are also the sole spawn point for wither skeletons and their skulls. Having one near your spawn portal turns a dangerous expedition into a quick trip.
How the distances are measured
Each seed was generated and scanned with cubiomes for the listed edition and version, and fortress positions are computed against the Nether generator centered on the spawn's portal-linked coordinate (Overworld spawn divided by 8). That is where a player stepping through a spawn portal actually arrives, so the ranking reflects real travel distance.
