Minecraft Coral Reef Ocean Ruins Seeds
By the ChunkScan Team · Updated August 2026
Ocean ruins are sunken stone and sandstone buildings, and the sandstone kind appears in warm oceans where coral grows. These seeds put a reef and a set of ruins near spawn. Every seed below was scanned and has a coral reef and ocean ruins near spawn. Of the Java 26.3 seeds we scanned, 27,058 have the biome within 512 blocks of spawn and the structure within 1,000 blocks; for half of them the structure is 323 blocks away or closer. Versions with at least 12 such seeds in our scan: 1.18, 1.19, 1.20, 1.21, 26.2 and 26.3.

Sniffer eggs and treasure maps under warm water
Brushing suspicious sand in warm ocean ruins can give a sniffer egg, pottery sherds and emeralds. The ruin chests can hold a buried treasure map, gold and emeralds. Drowned guard the ruins and may carry tridents. The reef adds coral, sea pickles and tropical fish.
Do ocean ruins spawn in coral reefs?
Yes. Warm ocean ruins, made of sandstone, generate in warm and lukewarm oceans. On these seeds the ruins are within 1,000 blocks of spawn, though they may be in a lukewarm or cold ocean nearby rather than on the reef. Open the seed map to see where.
How do I get a sniffer egg?
Find suspicious sand in a warm ocean ruin and use a brush on it. Some blocks give a sniffer egg. Place the egg on moss to hatch it faster.
