Jungle Temple Seeds Without the Jungle Slog

Rare Structure Seeds · By the ChunkScan Team · Updated 2026-09-09

Jungle temples are among the rarest surface structures in Minecraft. They only generate in jungle, bamboo jungle, and sparse jungle biomes, and those biomes are uncommon to begin with. Even when you find a jungle, the canopy hides everything below it, so most players locate temples by stumbling into them. The seeds on this page remove that step. Each one was scanned by ChunkScan's world generator and has a jungle temple placed within a few hundred blocks of spawn, with exact coordinates. Out of more than 1.7 million scanned seeds, only 20 clear this filter. Below is what the filter checks, why the numbers matter, and how to make use of the specific seeds listed further down the page.

What Makes a Good Jungle Temple Seed

Three things matter. First, distance: a temple under 250 blocks from spawn is reachable in the first few minutes without crafting a boat or bridging oceans. Second, spawn biome: spawning in a jungle variant means you can see the terrain type immediately, but spawning in a neighbouring biome is often better because you get wood, food, and open sky before you enter the trees. Third, what else is nearby. A temple alone gives you a few chests and some redstone, so seeds where trial chambers, ruined portals, or villages sit within a similar radius give you a proper early-game loop rather than a single detour.

How the Scanner Verifies Temple Placement

ChunkScan runs the real Minecraft 1.21 world-generation code for every seed it records. It does not guess from biome maps. For each seed, the scanner computes the spawn point, samples the biome grid around it, and evaluates every structure region within 1024 blocks to determine which structures actually generate and where. Jungle temples are position-checked against the biome at their generation coordinates, because the game only places them when that chunk resolves to a jungle biome. The result is a list of confirmed structures with block coordinates and straight-line distance from spawn. The coordinates you see below are the ones the game will use when you load the seed.

Seed -9223116775054445004: Two Temples, Sparse Jungle Spawn

This is the strongest temple seed in the set. You spawn in sparse jungle, which means fewer trees blocking your path, and the first jungle temple sits at x 64, z 160, about 172 blocks away. A second temple generates at x -336, z 32, roughly 337 blocks out, so you can loot both in a single session. Between them you get three ruined portals at x -256 z 128, x 32 z -304, and x 256 z 192, plus trial chambers at x 256, z 128. Sparse jungle also gives you melons and cocoa without the dense canopy, so food is handled early.

Seed -9222986545718698563: Temple From a Mountain Spawn

Spawning in jagged peaks is unusual for a temple seed, and it works in your favour. You start high with a clear view, and the jungle temple at x 112, z -192 is 222 blocks away. Head north-east and you will see the jungle boundary from altitude before you descend into it. The seed also has trial chambers at x -272, z 112 and two ancient cities at x 432 z 80 and x 32 z 496. That is a rare combination: a surface temple, an underground trial arena, and deep dark loot all inside 500 blocks. Bring wool for the ancient cities and keep the temple as your first stop.

Jungle Spawns Elsewhere in the List

Several other seeds in this set start you directly in a jungle variant. Seed -9223089407037064307 spawns in bamboo jungle with a ruined portal 160 blocks away at x 160, z 0, and three trial chambers within 400 blocks. Seed -9222412813631582374 spawns in standard jungle with trail ruins at x -240, z 0 and two villages inside 400 blocks. On these seeds the nearest listed structures are not temples, so treat them as jungle base seeds where a temple is likely within the wider biome rather than guaranteed at a known coordinate. Check the full structure list on each seed page before committing.

Raiding the Temple Safely

Every jungle temple has the same layout. The lower floor holds a three-lever puzzle that opens a hidden chest, and a corridor with a tripwire that fires a dispenser loaded with arrows. Approach the dispenser corridor along the wall, break the tripwire hooks with shears or simply cut the string, and then take the arrows from the dispenser itself. The lever solution is left-most down, right-most down, both up, then the middle lever, but you can also mine straight into the hidden chest room from the side. Chests commonly hold gold, iron, emeralds, and enchanted books. Take the redstone, dispensers, and sticky pistons too, since they are worth more than most of the chest loot.

Reading the Coordinates

The distance figure on each structure is the straight-line block distance from the world spawn point, not walking distance. In dense jungle the walking distance can be two or three times higher because you route around trees and cliffs. Use F3 to read your position and head toward the listed x and z; the y value is whatever the terrain surface is. Temples are often partially buried on slopes, so if you reach the coordinates and see nothing, look downhill and check for mossy cobblestone. Ruined portals near a temple are worth a stop for the gold blocks and the chance of a flint and steel to light the portal early.

Frequently Asked Questions

How rare are seeds with a jungle temple close to spawn?

Very rare. Of more than 1.7 million seeds ChunkScan has scanned, only 20 match this filter. Jungle biomes themselves are uncommon, and temples need a jungle chunk at a specific structure-region position.

Do these seeds work on Bedrock Edition?

The seeds listed here were scanned for Java Edition 1.21. Biome generation matches Bedrock since 1.18, but structure placement uses different random number generation, so temple coordinates will not carry over.

Which seed should I pick if I only want the temple?

Seed -9223116775054445004 is the clearest choice. It spawns in sparse jungle with a temple 172 blocks away and a second one at 337 blocks, plus three ruined portals nearby.
