Minecraft Bastion Finder
By the ChunkScan Team · Updated October 2026
Quick answer: To find a bastion remnant, enter your world seed on this page: the map opens in the Nether and marks every bastion with Nether coordinates. Bastions never generate in basalt deltas, and Overworld coordinates divided by 8 give the matching portal position. Link straight to a result with /bastion-finder?seed=YOUR_SEED.
Bastion remnants are the huge blackstone fortresses of the Nether — the best early source of netherite scrap, gilded blackstone and the Pigstep disc. This finder maps them on the Nether map for any seed, entirely in your browser, so your seed is never sent to a server. Positions are shown in Nether coordinates, centered on your spawn's portal-linked point. Bastions are mapped for Java seeds; Bedrock bastions aren't on the map yet.

What is a bastion remnant?
Bastion remnants are the huge blackstone fortresses of the Nether, guarded by piglins and hoglins. They are the best source of netherite scrap from loot chests, gilded blackstone, and the Pigstep music disc, and their treasure rooms hold some of the richest loot in the game.
What are the four bastion types?
Bastions come in four layouts — bridge, housing units, hoglin stable, and treasure — each with different loot and dangers. Bring gold armor so the piglins stay neutral, and gold ingots to barter. A bastion near your spawn portal is one of the fastest routes to an early netherite upgrade.
Are there bastions on Bedrock?
Bastions generate in both editions, but this map places them for Java seeds only so far; a Bedrock seed shows its Nether biomes and fortresses. The loot tables and mob behavior are the same on both platforms.
