Minecraft End City Finder

By the ChunkScan Team · Updated October 2026

Quick answer: To find an End city, enter your world seed on this page: the map opens in the End and marks every End city on the outer islands, which start about 1,000 blocks from the central island. Reach them through an end gateway after defeating the dragon. Link straight to a result with /end-city-finder?seed=YOUR_SEED.

End cities are the purpur towers of the outer End and the only place to find the elytra — the wings that let you fly. This finder maps them on the End map for any seed, entirely in your browser, so your seed is never sent to a server. End cities only generate on the outer islands, about 1,000 blocks out; distances are from the End gateway the dragon fight opens — your way there. End cities are mapped for Java seeds; Bedrock End cities aren't on the map yet.

Not quite it? Try these:

Why hunt End cities?

End cities are the purpur towers of the outer End, and the only place to find the elytra — the wings that let you glide and, with rockets, fly. They also hold shulkers (for shulker shells and shulker boxes) and enchanted end-game gear in their loot chests. Every serious late-game world runs on elytra, so the nearest End city is a milestone worth planning for.

Where do End cities spawn?

End cities only generate past the void gap around the main island. Kill the dragon, then throw an ender pearl into the small gateway portal it opens, or bridge across. The map is centered on the main island at x 0, z 0 and the outer islands start about 1,000 blocks out, so pick a direction before you leave.

Are there End cities on Bedrock?

End cities generate in both editions, but this map places them for Java seeds only so far; a Bedrock seed shows its End islands. Loot and the elytra ship are the same on both platforms.
